About PAE

PAE electrical engineers and mechanical engineers

We’re not a typical engineering firm. We meet a set of engineering demands that didn’t even exist 20 or 30 years ago when today’s traditions were being forged.

What we do may be called mechanical engineering and electrical engineering but, in the end, what we do is create better environments, inside and out.

In the built environment, it’s about comfort. We design systems that provide light and control temperature, relative humidity, sound, smell, and healthy air, as well as provide ready access to electricity and water.

We work hand-in-hand with architects and interior designers to be sure all those “invisible” features -- ducts, pipes, conduits, cable trays and a host of others -- are well integrated with architectural design.

How the built environment affects the natural environment never leaves our minds. We think deeply about both the upstream and downstream affects our designs have on the natural environment. We follow the energy path of our buildings whether it goes all the way back to the dinosaurs with fossil fuels, or only as far as the roof, with renewable energy powered by the sun. The same is true for the water, whether it comes from a reservoir hundreds of miles from the site, or from rainfall on the roof.

Our goal is to follow nature’s lead and design systems that create comfortable interior environments while being powered by the sun, fed by rainfall, without even the concept of waste.
