Senior Engineers - Mechanical and Electrical

ABOUT THE COMPANY

PAE Consulting Engineers, is a 45 year old engineering firm with offices in Portland, OR with a new office in San Francisco. PAE is a leading edge sustainable design firm that has “16 Platinum LEED” projects and 6 “net zero energy” design projects completed to date. We are looking for a senior mechanical and electrical engineer to lead the mechanical and electrical engineering groups in our new San Francisco office.

This is an opportunity to work for one of the premier sustainable design firms in the US with the position leading to an ownership position in the company. Qualified candidates should have a strong passion for sustainable design and proven ability to lead design standards firm wide. Candidates should have a thorough knowledge of mechanical/electrical engineering practices, solid project management and budgeting capabilities. QUALIFICATIONS

Must have at least 10 years experience, with at least 5 years in a design management role. Experience should include all areas/phases of Academic work, including master plans; marketing, proposal preparation and client relations. Must possess a thorough knowledge of general mechanical/electrical engineering practice with emphasis on sustainable design, innovative engineering solutions, and all aspects of computer modeling. LEED process, energy rebate programs, integration of engineering disciplines, codes & regulations (DSA & OSHPD) and construction budgets. Professional Registration and LEED accreditation required.

The position requires the ability to manage projects, and lead, direct, and coordinate the work of team members of varied backgrounds. This position requires flexibility; diversity of technical expertise; strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; and excellent customer care skills. The candidate will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The candidate will perform a variety of complicated tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Working on a variety of energy saving calculations, computer modeling, strategies and projects.
  • Performing energy engineering studies, including energy audits, feasibility studies, life cycle cost analysis and others.
  • Managing projects including all aspects of planning, scoping, budgeting, scheduling, deciding technical approach, ensuring technical quality, tracking, and ensuring customer’s expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and quality control of calculations.
  • Staying informed about energy issues and industry trends through regular technical reading and participation in local and national professional organizations.
