PAE Awarded Three Student Housing Projects in Three Cities across Northwest

October, 2009 – PAE was recently awarded three student housing projects on the campuses of Portland State University, the University of Washington, and Oregon State University. Encompassing six different buildings, the projects will result in a combined construction cost of more than $200 million.

Teaming with SERA architects, PAE will design mechanical and electrical systems for Portland State University’s new student housing building. The sizeable, 16-story building will feature 1,000 beds, and pursue a LEED Gold rating through the U.S Green Building Council.

In Corvallis, PAE will provide design expertise for Oregon State University’s International Student Hall. Intended to support the university’s INTO International program, the new building will include 140,000 square-feet of multi-use space and approximately 350 beds. PAE will team with Mahlum Architects to complete the project.

The University of Washington’s West Campus Residence Hall project is comprised of four new buildings. Pursuing LEED Gold and Architecture 2030 certification, sustainable design is a strong focus of the project. PAE is working with Mahlum Architects to complete designs for the buildings, intended to revitalize the West entrance to the campus.

Founded in 1967, PAE’s clients include more than 30 colleges and universities located across the Pacific Northwest. The firm has extensive experience designing systems for high performance student and affordable housing projects.
