ABC News: Buck Institute research lab uses geothermal heating
ABC news digs deep into the Buck Institute’s new geothermal heating system in their January 10, 2012 feature. Designed by PAE Consulting Engineers, the Buck Institute’s geothermal system will provide cooling and domestic/industrial hot water needs for the entire150,000 square-foot campus. It all comes down to savings for the Buck Institute; the research center will benefit from a nearly 50-percent decrease in energy-use and a nearly 7 million gallon reduction in potable water use each year.
