The ultimate goal of commissioning is to assure a building’s systems operate per the design intent, meet code requirements, and provide the owner with a fully functional system that can be operated and maintained as economically as possible. 

PAE’s approach to commissioning brings together the owner’s representative, contractor, design engineer, control contractor and manufacturers to tune equipment and provide the project with the desired performance and maximum possible efficiency. For LEED buildings, we help teams secure LEED credits through fundamental, additional, and retro commissioning.

Our services include:

• Writing and reviewing commissioning specifications

• Writing design intent narratives

• Writing and reviewing startup and functional acceptance tests

• Monitoring tests performed by others

• Determining if equipment passes or fails, maintaining lists of test results, and tracking changes and commissioning progress until completion.
