Cascade Bicycle Club wins AIA Seattle 2015 Award of Honor

The new headquarters tenant improvement for Cascade Bicycle Club (CBC), the largest independent bicycling organization in the nation, transforms a historic building into a vibrant community gathering space. Located in Seattle’s Magnuson Park, the headquarters expresses the club’s mission to establish a sense of community among a diverse and active group of cyclists while supporting their mission of education and advocacy. The space is designed to cater to the workplace needs of the organization’s employees and volunteers while also creating an iconic gathering space accessible to CBC members.

Working with ZGF Architects, PAE and Luma designed a variety of sustainable features for this unique space, including a passive cooling system, a 100-percent efficient electric baseboard heating system, and a high efficiency LED lighting system. The project was awarded the AIA Seattle 2015 Award of Honor, the highest award given.
