PAE Diversity in Engineering Scholarship
In partnership with the Architecture Foundation of Oregon (AFO), the PAE Diversity in Engineering Scholarship supports climate-focused engineering students across the U.S.
This $5,000 scholarship is open to undergraduate students who are marginalized by ethnicity and/or gender and are pursuing engineering with a passion for climate justice at an accredited four-year university in the United States.
Established in 2025 with the support of PAE's JEDI Committee this scholarship reflects PAE's commitment to increasing racial and gender diversity within the engineering profession. We believe that addressing complex environmental challenges requires a more diverse and representative engineering workforce. Through this scholarship, PAE supports students whose ideas, leadership, and technical expertise will help shape a more sustainable and equitable future.
Scholarship funds help offset direct educational costs, allowing students to focus on achieving their academic goals. Awardees are also invited to connect with PAE's community of building and design professionals and may receive opportunities for mentorship, networking, and career development.
Scholarship Impact
Since launching in 2025, the PAE Diversity in Engineering Scholarship has supported students whose work advances climate action, resilience, and community impact through engineering.
2026 Recipient: Brooklynn Roth
George Fox University | Civil Engineering
Brooklynn is passionate about creating more connected, sustainable, and equitable communities through transportation infrastructure. Her work explores how public transit, rail systems, and safer bicycle networks can improve mobility, reduce environmental impacts, and expand opportunities for underserved communities.
2025 Recipient: Morgan Dawkins
Penn State University | Architectural Engineering
Morgan is focused on designing resilient and sustainable building structures that help protect vulnerable communities from the impacts of climate change. Inspired by her experiences growing up in flood-prone North Carolina, she hopes to create infrastructure that advances both climate resilience and social equity.
Apply Through AFO
Applications for the 2027 scholarship will open in early 2027. PAE and AFO encourage engineering students of marginalized ethnicities and genders to apply—particularly those with a passion for climate action and a desire to positively impact communities through engineering.
Support Future Engineers
PAE welcomes contributions to the scholarship fund to help expand access and opportunity for future engineers. Donations help remove financial barriers and support the next generation of leaders working to address climate and equity challenges through engineering.
